Enter attended and total classes (or workdays) to see your % and exactly how many more you need to attend — or can safely skip — to hit your target.

How attendance percentage works

Attendance percentage is a simple ratio of days/classes you actually attended out of the total scheduled. It is tracked because it is the cleanest proxy for engagement, eligibility and discipline.

Formula: Attendance % = (Attended ÷ Total) × 100

Minimum attendance requirements

  • Colleges & universities (India): Most enforce 75%. Some autonomous institutes require 80%.
  • Schools (CBSE / ICSE): 75% is the floor for board exam eligibility.
  • Professional courses (CA / CS / Law): 70 – 75%.
  • Workplaces: Most companies expect 90%+ for full incentive eligibility.
  • Hybrid / WFO: Many IT companies enforce 3-day-a-week office attendance, tracked monthly.

Useful attendance formulas

Classes you can still skip: Skips = ⌊Total × (1 − Target/100)⌋ − Already missed

Classes you must still attend: Need = ⌈Target/100 × (Attended + Total Remaining)⌉ − Attended

Days to recover from a low %: Use the “need to attend” output above. If even attending every remaining class won't meet the target, the calculator returns the maximum reachable %.

Tips to stay above 75%

  • Front-load attendance — go full 100% for the first 4 weeks and bank a buffer.
  • Track weekly, not monthly — it prevents end-of-term shocks.
  • Always inform faculty/manager before unavoidable leaves; written intimation often unlocks condonation.
  • Submit medical certificates within the 7-day window to count them as attended.
