Most guides on this subject start with “restart your phone” and end with “visit a service centre.” That is not a diagnosis, it is a shrug. A phone speaker that produces no sound is failing at exactly one point in a short chain: the app produces audio, the operating system routes it to an output, an amplifier drives a coil, and a driver moves air through a grille. Each link fails with its own signature, and once you know the signature you can stop guessing.
The single most useful test costs nothing and takes ten seconds: plug in wired headphones or pair a Bluetooth speaker and play the same audio. If it plays there, everything upstream of the loudspeaker — the app, the codec, the volume state, the mixer — is healthy, and the problem lives in the last two links. These two get confused constantly, and the difference decides whether you spend ten minutes or ten thousand rupees. A blocked speaker is quiet but clean; a blown speaker is loud but wrong.

Two tone cycles with no measurable change is the honest cut-off. If the sound has not moved at all by then, more cycles will not help — the diagnosis has already been made for you.
iPhone: The Checks That Are Specific To iOS
Several iPhone-only behaviours produce a “dead speaker” that is not a dead speaker at all.

Five “Fixes” That Make It Worse
